Sculpture in the Vineyards is the longest-running regional sculpture festival in New South Wales. Transitioning to a biennial event allows the festival to continually grow and improve, ensuring its longevity for decades to come. The festival’s new format aims to attract more midweek visitors and tap into upmarket segments, making it a significant cultural event in the Hunter Valley.

Noteworthy Patrons and Ambassadors

This prestigious event has garnered the support of notable figures in the art world. Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, has become the festival’s patron. The festival’s Governor’s Prize offers a unique opportunity for the winning sculpture to be exhibited in the sculpture garden at Government House for 12 months, adding to the festival’s allure.

Ambassadors like Armando Percuoco AO, Paul Selwood, and Jennifer Winten contribute their expertise and passion for art, enriching the festival experience. Armando, an original sponsor of Sculpture by the Sea, has led guided tours and judged the festival in previous years. Paul Selwood, recognized as one of Australia’s finest sculptors, and Jennifer Winten, a seasoned art collector and benefactor, bring valuable connections and insights to the event.

Distinguished Guest Artist: Isabel Langtry

This year, the festival proudly hosts renowned British sculptor Isabel Langtry as a Distinguished Guest Artist. Isabel’s involvement brings an international flair to the event, offering one of the finalists a special prize of a solo exhibition at the SoHA Gallery at the Hampstead School of Art in London. This opportunity underscores the festival’s commitment to promoting and celebrating sculptural art on a global scale.
