“Chefs can be artists beyond the kitchen. Armando Percuoco, owner of Sydney dining institution Buon Ricordo, has a keen appreciation of sculpture and gardens – interests that combine at his rural escape in the NSW Hunter Valley.

The garden at Percuoco’s property, Valleyfield, is a living gallery for his growing sculpture collection. It is also a deeply personal reflection of his life with his wife, Gemma. Along with the extensive olive groves that supply the restaurant with oil, there are vegetables, herbs, figs, persimmons, quince, loquat and Seville oranges, from which Gemma makes a seriously good marmalade.”
