The Hunter Valley’s largest sculpture festival, the spectacular Sculpture in the Vineyards in the Wollombi Valley, is back again for 2014. This year’s edition will be bigger than ever, with more events, tours and an exciting new Sculpture by Night event.

We are thrilled to announce that over 60 artists will be exhibiting their work across 4 stunning vineyard venues, from Saturday 25th October to Sunday 30th November 2014.

Now in its 12th year, Sculpture in the Vineyards has grown to become the leading art and social event in the Wollombi Valley. Sculpture in the Vineyards delivers an exciting, educational and eclectic range of special events and collaborations with our local tourism partner, Ngurra Bu Indigenous tours, art galleries and societies such as Maitland & Cessnock Regional Art Galleries, Art Gallery of NSW and Wollombi Arts Council for the Small Sculpture exhibition, at Wollombi’s Old Fire Shed Gallery from the 8th to the 23rd November.

“We are thrilled to see Sculpture in the Vineyards growing each year,” said Tara Morelos, Co-Director of the event. “The landscape of the vineyards is the perfect backdrop for some of the most innovative sculptures in the country, and we have so many satellite events that make this festival unique to the Hunter Valley.”

Many of the participating artists are award winners and they hail from all over Australia. Sunday Arvo's @ Wollombi Tavern

Date: Sunday, 26 October 2014
Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Location: Wollombi Tavern, Wollombi NSW

Sunday Arvo’s @ Wollombi Tav is a new series of events being held at the iconic Wollombi Tavern in the beautiful Lower Hunter Valley village of Wollombi.

These aren’t your usual Sunday Sessions – they’re indie & an opportunity to listen to some great music on the grass … if you’re so inclined you can even pull up your swag & camp for FREE behind the Tavern.

Steve Smyth is a singer-songwriter who originally hails from the South Coast of New South Wales, but is best described these days as a world citizen. His live performances have to be experienced to be believed. Every performance is an event, every song a statement. He has a habit of putting a smile on every face in in the room, and encouraging previously unplanned whooping to erupt en masse. Having toured nationally and internationally with the likes of The Killers, Angus and Julia and Lanie Lane, from the smallest hole in the wall to the grandest theatre, Steve Smyth IS the show.

THIS IS A FREE EVENT!

Valley Artists presents 'Can't Pay? Won't Pay!'

Date: Friday, 14 November 2014 - Saturday, 22 November 2014
Time: 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Location: Laguna Hall, Laguna NSW

Valley Artists are presenting their end of year production “Sotto Paga? Non Si Paga!” which translates to “Can’t Pay! Won’t Pay!” by famous Italian playwright Dario Fo.

“With Marxist leanings, Fo writes in defense of the working class and is ridiculing of authority. The story is about the reaction of the people to the high prices of basic goods which fits so perfectly into the current political climate. This is a style of theatre we’ve not really done before. It is a fast paced and very funny farce. Even though the play is a political statement it is fun and will be fun to play and watch with a zany colourful set,” said Director Bob Philippe.

“Can’t Pay! Won’t Pay!” will open on Friday 14 November with performances on 15, 16, 19, 20, 21 & 22 November at Laguna Hall. Each performance will start at 8pm sharp. A special Italian themed dinner/play package will be available at the GNTP on Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 November.

Tickets are only $25 for Adults and $20 for Concessions. Available at GNTP and Wollombi General Store or phone 02 4998 3419.
