Sculpture by Night

Date: Saturday, 29 November 2014
Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Location: Undercliff Winery and Gallery, Wollombi NSW

The Hunter Valley’s largest sculpture festival, the spectacular Sculpture in the Vineyards in the Wollombi Valley, is back again for 2014. As the sun sets on the Wollombi Valley, watch sculpture transform into surprising shapes and take on new views against the night sky at the very first Sculpture By Night, a nocturnal walk-through event at Undercliff Winery as part of this year’s Sculpture in the Vineyards Festival.

Curator Christiane Keys-Statham and her team will be using a variety of creative illuminations and be guided by the stars, moon, solar power, LED’s and torchlight to create a new sculpture landscape after the sun goes down. “We are crafting a very special, one-off event to encourage us all to take one last look at the sculptures and the landscape in a new way”, said Christiane.

Sculpture By Night is a free event that will take place on Saturday 29th November 2014 at Undercliff Winery at dusk.

Sunday Arvo's @ Wollombi Tavern

Date: Sunday, 30 November 2014
Time: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Location: Wollombi Tavern, Wollombi NSW

Frank is another one of the shining lights from this year’s Wollombi Music Festival & we’re chuffed to have him back in the valley & on our stage at the Wollombi Tavern.

As so eloquently described by journo Meghan Player this is Frank…

“In a fast-moving digital age, it’s becoming rare to find a musician that relies more on the old school techniques and less on the new. Sydney musician Frank Sultana is one of those rarities. Drawing from a blues era well before his time, the Sydney singer/songwriter has found his spiritual home recreating a time when the Devil was feared, love was deep and music came from the deepest recesses of the heart.”

The Buzzard Mix @ GNTP

The Buzzard Mix is a Newcastle based band that plays early Jamaican Ska and Reggae. The band features an all girl front line of tenor sax, trumpet and sultry vocals, backed by an on-the-money rhythm section that will get you dancing to the ska beat.

The Buzzard mix’s influences start with old school Jamaican ska. As horn players The Skatalites embody a music that combined the influences of Jazz with the soul of a people rising up from oppression to celebrate their independence, that eventually reached the world as ska soul and reggae music. The rhythm section is paramount to guaranteeing the brass a solid bed where the dancers can feel the beat. Add to this mix vocalists such as Dawn Penn and Toots Hibbert to bring soul and love to the music. Influences continue with Fat Freddys Drop and Morcheeba to bring some reggae and dub sounds to the night.
