The public toilets in Wollombi are located at Slacks Park, just north of the Wollombi Tavern. The park also contains a children’s playground, picnic tables and a gas BBQ.
The closest petrol and diesel is at Laguna, just south of Wollombi at the Old Northern Trading Post. The next closest is Millfield, on the main road heading towards Cessnock. Petrol is not available in the Wollombi village.
The Wollombi Tavern has an ATM (although there are times it is either out of order or has no money in it!) The Wollombi General Store can at times do Cash Out.
Wollombi is located at the Southern gateway to Hunter Valley Wine Country, so if you have reached Wollombi you are officially in Wine Country! If you are looking to try a local drop, why not visit the boutique vineyards along the Wollombi Valley Wine Trail. The main vineyard districts of Pokolbin and Lovedale are around a 30-minute drive away.
If you are with Telstra or Optus you will get full mobile signal in the village. Once you get more than a couple of kilometres outside the village, reception will be patchy.
Unfortunately there are not buses or taxis available in the area.
The best way to get to the concerts is to travel with Rover Coaches. They pickup in many locations throughout the Wollombi Valley, and you can book online. If you are looking for something extremely indulgent, why not think about a helicopter flight to the concert, and return by limousine at the end of the night?
Yes! There are a number of locally based Tour companies, and also a few based in the main vineyards district who will pickup in Wollombi if you pre-book.
We have a wonderful play ground at Slacks Park for primary aged kids. And children of all ages are welcome within the Wollombi Tavern and Great Northern Trading Post grounds (with accompanying adults) – just not at the bar. Basically, we have loads of space to run around and explore!
Our area is serviced by the Hunter Mobile Preschool in Wollombi on Wednesdays and Thursdays during the school term. If you are wanting to enrol your child in preschool please contact Coordinator Sarah Spinks on 0411 056 517 for more information.

There are a huge range of events held throughout the Wollombi Valley during the year, from Sculpture in the Vineyards from October to January, Wollombi Country Fair in August, Wollombi Music Festival in September, to art exhibitions and markets on the long weekends. The Wollombi General Store has access to the keys for the local churches, if you are interested in having a look, and also takes bookings for the Wollombi Hall and the tennis courts.
There is always something open for breakfast or lunch in the Wollombi Valley. For evening meals on the weekends why not try Panino Restaurant or the Wollombi Tavern. For more information see the Dining page.
All homes and accommodation properties in the Wollombi Valley are on tank water / rain water. There is no town water in the Wollombi Valley.

Visit the Museum, enjoy wine tasting at boutique vineyards, drive up to Finchley Trig and see the Aboriginal rock carvings, enjoy a leisurely meal in a local cafe, wander around the historic Wollombi village, stroll through Sculpture in the Vineyards from October to January, take in an art exhibition at the Fireshed Gallery, pickup some local produce at the Wollombi General Store, browse through the unique village shops, enjoy the wildlife, gaze at the clear evening sky and count the stars, enjoy a bush walk, sip a glass of Hunter wine in front of the fire.
