Immerse yourself in an illuminated wonderland and experience a night of fire and light with family and friends. A FREE family event to celebrate the arrival of spring!
Warm yourself amongst flaming sculptures and be intrigued by interactive installations. This year we’re excited to announce that the world-renowned Junkyard Beats will be bringing their dynamic rhythm show to the Spring Awakening stage, with a series of high-energy routines that include body percussion, fire drumming, junk percussion, pyrotechnics and hilarious skits. Their family friendly show draws on inspiration from everyday life, the streets and the junkyard, and is filled with imagination, humour and a LOT of rhythm.
As well as live entertainment on our main stage, there’ll be roving performers and creative activities for kids and surprises for the whole family! Pack a picnic or select a delicious treat from one of our hand-picked gourmet food trucks and soak up the atmosphere. The Spring Awakening festival will be located at Cessnock TAFE Campus.
Come along early to participate in the ever growing lantern parade, departing from Cessnock Performing Arts Centre and continuing in a dazzling procession via Vincent Street all the way to the TAFE grounds. The parade will leave at 5.30pm sharp!
