Built from convict-hewn sandstone blocks authentic markings in the interior walls echo the heritage of the area situated on the Great North Road. The materials were originally part of the dismantled wing of Sydney’s ‘Rum’ hospital on Macquarie Street.
The thoughtfully appointed rooms in Capers Guesthouse feature solid sandstone walls and wooden flooring, interwoven by rich tones inspired by the Gleneagles Hotel of Scotland. Rooms in two wings flank a central lounge and dining area with central double-facing fireplace. All rooms open onto the wide sweeping verandas with views of the valley and gardens.
