Artisan Collective at The Wollombi General Store

Most locals know the old barn behind the Wollombi General Store. Over the years, it’s been used for all sorts of things, and now it’s starting its best chapter yet.

The barn has been transformed into the Artisans Collective, a working creative hub for local makers from across the valley. This isn’t a shop where finished products sit on shelves. It’s a place where work actually happens – painters, textile artists, jewellers, leather workers and other artisans using the space as studios, creating on site while visitors watch the process unfold.

Workshops are held in the barn too, giving locals and visitors the chance to learn directly from the makers themselves.

The Wollombi General Store supports the collective through events, promotion and shared platforms, connecting visitors with artists and their work, while the makers focus on what they do best.

The Artisans Collective opened in Autumn 2026 and is growing steadily as the space comes to life.

Founding artisans include Bushink Watagan, Chelsey Teale Art, Laguna Leather, Polina Karuso Art, Therapeutic Touch Wollombi, Shady Lady Lamps and Dried Flower Creations, with more local makers joining as the collective grows.
