“THE Hunter has been named Australia’s best food and wine region in the latest instalment of the Gold List Awards, a nationwide survey conducted by Luxury Travel Magazine.

For 10 years thousands of Luxury Travel Magazine readers have voted on their favourite destinations, with the region’s wineries, cafes and restaurants helping the Hunter claim the top gong this year.

Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism Association general manager Gus Maher said the nomination acknowledged the region’s place among Australia’s tourism destinations.”
