“Things are about to get wild in Wollombi as hundreds of mountain bike enthusiasts go off-road for a race full of thrills – but hopefully not too many spills!

The annual Wollombi Wild Ride will return to the normally quiet countryside on September 3, bringing with it riders of all ages and skill levels looking to challenge themselves in one of three race distances.

Novice riders, families and children over the age of eight can get a taste of the action with the Wild Short – a 13.5km race along a mostly flat course, with enough off-road sections to get the heart pumping.

Those seeking to test themselves a little more should consider the Wild Mid, taking in a 30km course that loosely follows a loop through the picturesque Wollombi bushland around Yango Creek and Upper Yango Creek roads, heading back to the race compound via the Finchley Track, Moores Road and Dry Arm Track.”
