Studio GleanedStudio Gleaned
Studio Gleaned is located in historic Wollombi and is the gallery of local artist/jeweller and gleaner Kes Harper.
The timber building, nestled on the hill, is one of Wollombi’s oldest structures dating back to the 1860’s with little known of its history apart from always being ‘just a shed’. Until now…
Rescued back to life using recycled or gleaned timber and tin including fittings, Studio Gleaned opened its doors in early 2019. The historic exterior – one of the most photographed in town – remains as it was…full of charm and character.
Gleaned is about mixed metal jewellery and small objects made by hand. Upcycled found objects and gleaned materials – olive oil or biscuit tins, silver and steel wrapped in stories of their provenance. And it’s about caring, living conciously, sustainably, reusing what already exists but never compromising on style!
This cool little artspace is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10am till 3pm as well as Public Holiday Mondays.
It is a ‘must do’ part of anyone’s Wollombi wandering. The tin seats on the hill provide rest and great views of town – all part of the Gleaned experience you’ll find nowhere else.
